Part-Time Seasonal Farm Position- McMinnville, OR

A to Z Flower Farm is a boutique flower farm and floral design studio specializing in premium specialty cut flowers for weddings, events, subscriptions, and everyday arrangements throughout the Willamette Valley.

We are seeking a dependable, self-motivated individual to support the daily production work that keeps the farm running during peak growing season. This role is essential to maintaining the quality, consistency, and timeliness required in professional flower production.

This position focuses primarily on harvesting, crop care, and behind-the-scenes farm operations rather than floral design.

What It’s Like to Work Here

Flower farming is beautiful — and it is also real agricultural work and requires grit!

Tasks are physical, time-sensitive, and performed outdoors in changing weather conditions. Flowers must be harvested at precise stages and often before the heat of the day, so work hours follow the natural rhythm of the growing season rather than a fixed daily timetable.

This role requires stamina, attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to perform essential tasks consistently and carefully.

Typical Responsibilities

Responsibilities vary with the season and daily farm needs but commonly include:

  • Harvesting flowers at the correct stage for quality and longevity

  • Processing and conditioning stems post-harvest

  • Washing and sanitizing buckets and maintaining clean inventory

  • Weeding, planting, and general crop care

  • Creating market-style wrapped bouquets

  • Stocking and maintaining the roadside flower stand

  • Light mowing and grounds upkeep

  • Use of basic hand tools and occasional power tools

  • Supporting overall farm operations as needed

This Role Is a Strong Fit for Someone Who:

  • Is reliable, punctual, and accountable

  • Can work independently once trained

  • Listens carefully and follows instructions accurately

  • Has strong attention to detail

  • Is comfortable performing physical outdoor work

  • Enjoys purposeful, hands-on tasks

  • Does not mind getting dirty, sweaty, or wet

  • Takes pride in doing essential work well

  • Has reliable transportation

Prior experience in gardening, landscaping, agriculture, or physical labor is welcome but not required.

Physical Requirements

Applicants should be comfortable with:

  • Repeated bending, kneeling, and lifting

  • Carrying buckets of water and flowers

  • Working on uneven ground

  • Exposure to sun, rain, wind, mud, and insects

  • Standing or walking for extended periods

Schedule

  • Seasonal position: April through October

  • Approximately 15–25 hours per week

  • Work hours vary with the season and crop needs

During peak summer heat, work is typically scheduled in the early morning and/or evenings. Midday hours (approximately 12 PM–4 PM) are generally not part of the schedule during this time except on occasion.

During planting season (April–June) and again in early fall (September–October), midday hours are often part of the schedule as conditions allow.

Some flexibility is required due to weather, crop timing, and seasonal demands.

Compensation is based on experience-  $16-$20/hour

Why This Work Matters

Every stem harvested and every task completed contributes directly to weddings, celebrations, and everyday moments of joy. This role supports the foundation of everything we create as a working flower farm.
